“What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him. The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see again.” Mark 10:51

For Rev. Dr. Paul Escamilla, the place to start when facing a challenge is always love. He knows where there is love, there are miracles, and one of the most powerful miracles is the simple miracle of seeing again from a fresh perspective.

As a facilitator for Texas Methodist Foundation’s Courageous Congregations Collaborative, Rev. Escamilla feels humbled to help leaders see the beauty once again of what’s possible in their church and community to live the Gospel life in new and fresh expressions. Or, as he puts it, renew leaders to “see the beauty so they can seed the beauty."

Rev. Escamilla believes in staying in the “imaginative power of possibility” to see life-giving change through humble, persistent, and “silent” work. This hopeful wisdom comes directly from his experience as a senior pastor and elder in the Rio Texas Conference for over 35 years.

“Texas Methodist Foundation largely works for good silently,” said Rev. Escamilla. It provides an “infrastructure of dollars and resources that allows us to dream a little bigger—it allows a ‘no’ to become a ‘yes,’ and by quiet means, infrastructure becomes grace.

Inspired to seed the future of the church, Rev. Escamilla became an investor in Texas Methodist Foundation Impact Certificates because he sees the power in TMF’s financial and leadership ministry, dedicated to the church’s mission doing Christ’s loving work in the world.
