An initiative of TMF, Courageous Congregations Collaborate (C3) helps churches navigate a rapidly changing spiritual landscape by clarifying their God-given purpose, strengthening shared leadership, and deepening neighborhood engagement.
C3 connects with churches when they reach a crossroads, unsure of how to carry on with their purpose, aware that change is necessary but uncertain about what change to make or how to navigate such change. Engaging five adaptive leadership muscles for faithful ministry in a changing world, the initiative draws on the wisdom of leaders who have walked through similar transitions, offering grounding for thoughtful and prayerful discernment.
C3 creates a supportive cohort community in which pastors, lay leaders, and congregations learn together, share wisdom, and uncover new possibilities for ministry. Imaginations are ignited as participants begin to recognize God’s unfolding work, guided by leaders who have navigated similar challenges and found spiritual grounding along the way.
Since its inception, the initiative has served dozens of congregations with immeasurable impact, providing greater clarity on their God-given purpose, expanded lay leadership, innovative new ministries, and stronger community partnerships — positioning churches to become courageous, adaptive, and hope-filled partners in their neighborhoods.
