TMF’s Grants Ministry supports grantees' innovative efforts to provide social impact grounded in faith and improve the lives of those living in poverty. We invest in strong nonprofits with a clear mission and proven results. Our investment, made possible by the generous support of our donors, allows a unity of faith and funds to respond to the ever-growing needs of the church and the communities it serves.

El Pasoans Fighting Hunger addresses food insecurity in El Paso, Hudspeth, and Culberson counties by providing nutritious food and resources. Since 2016, it has distributed over 106 million pounds of food to those in need.

Since 2015, RecoveryWerks! has supported teens, young adults, and families in Comal County with recovery services using the Alternative Peer Group model. The program offers counseling, coaching, and support to help individuals overcome substance use disorders.

When the Problem is at Home-When the Problem is at Home focuses on enhancing senior living spaces with thoughtful modifications to promote comfort, accessibility, and safety. Homelessness among seniors is a significant concern in many areas, including Dallas, due to reasons such as lack of affordable housing and housing that doesn't meet standard requirements.
Wesley-Rankin Community Center (WRCC)-Wesley-Rankin Community Center (WRCC) is a faith-founded nonprofit serving 500 individuals annually in West Dallas. They offer educational programs for K-8, college and career readiness tools for high school students, leadership courses for adults, and community-building for older adults.
Lone Star Justice Alliance-LSJA is dedicated to reforming the juvenile justice system through litigation, advocacy, and education, focusing on initiatives like Transformative Justice, JustSentencing, and Reimagine Justice to reduce recidivism and engage communities for change. It also provides support for justice-involved youth and advocates for policy changes at state and federal levels.
Meals on Wheels New Mexico (MOWNM) provides nearly 5,000 weekly meals in eight diet types to seniors, people with disabilities, and low-income, homebound individuals. Deliveries cover 38 routes in the Albuquerque area Monday through Friday, and frozen meals are shipped statewide, with each meal including a wellness check from a trained volunteer.
Austin Street Center-Austin Street Center (ASC) is at the forefront of the work that is reshaping Dallas. ASC’s goal is to ensure that every homeless person who comes to us finds hope, support, and the resources they need to transition out of homelessness. ASC is committed to helping individuals find a new sense of identity and confidence in their ability to secure permanent housing.
Taste Project Arlington Culinary Arts Workforce-Project is a nonprofit organization based in Fort Worth and Arlington, Texas. The organization's mission is to provide access to healthy, quality meals through a pay-what-you-can community restaurant, a workforce development program, and an urban garden. It also leads the iHEAL community collaboration to improve health equity among low-income adults.
Saranam-Saranam is a 501c3 organization in Albuquerque, NM, helping families overcome homelessness and poverty through housing, education, and community support. The organization provides transitional housing, education, vocational coaching, and supportive services to help families achieve self-sufficiency.
The Children’s Bereavement Center of the Rio Grande Valley-The Children’s Bereavement Center of the Rio Grande Valley (CBC-RGV) aims to provide free bereavement counseling to grieving children, youth, and their families in the Rio Grande Valley area. The organization offers individual and group counseling, expressive therapies, and grief camps, as well as educational institutes for school counselors.
Project Transformation North Texas-Project Transformation North Texas aids 700 children and youth yearly with summer and afterschool programs at 9-10 locations. Its unique mentoring model develops literacy, social, emotional, and leadership skills, while addressing the impact of COVID-19 on learning and development in 2024.
Restoring Justice-Restoring Justice(RJ) provides holistic representation to vulnerable accused individuals affected by mass incarceration. It works to embody Jesus Christ through restoration and partner with others to expose unfair practices in the local justice system.
McCurdy Ministries - MMCC is a non-profit that offers free mental health counseling and after-school care for up to 50 children. It provides free Pre-Kindergarten, low-cost summer camp, and adult education programs. MMCC continues to create new programs and alliances with support from donors and volunteers.
Mommie Support Network-Mommie Support Network supports struggling mothers with on-site groups in low-income housing and an Adopt-a-Mom program where community members deliver groceries, forming a supportive relationship with the community.
Special Reach-Special Reach provides engaging activities for children with developmental delays, camps, and special guests, along with restorative respite for caregivers. It has a Youth Mentorship Program, Alumni Enrichment Program, and offers support for families in need. The staff includes special education teachers, speech therapists, and nurses.
Café Momentum-Café Momentum empowers justice-involved youth with a paid internship in a casual fine dining restaurant and comprehensive support, helping them pursue education and secure jobs with family-sustaining wages and become changemakers in Dallas.
Nehemiah Center-Nehemiah Center helps low-income families improve their children's future through education, emotional wellness, and spiritual enrichment. It serves children from toddlers to college and provide academic services to help them overcome barriers.
The Center for Survivors of Torture-The Center for Survivors of Torture provides mental health services to trauma survivors, helping them lead productive lives. Despite unimaginable hardships, the human spirit's resilience never ceases to amaze this team.
New Hope-New Hope offers outpatient mental and behavioral healthcare programs that support individuals, couples, and families. It uses assessments, coordination of care, evaluation, and advocacy to alleviate suffering and facilitate healing and growth. It also focuses on the upstream causes of poor mental health at the community and systems level.
The Center of Grace-The Center of Grace at Grace Avenue provides a safe space for individuals to receive mental health support. They offer group and individual therapy sessions on various topics, including depression, anxiety, and LGBTQ2+ issues. The center also provides community resources and referrals to support overall well-being.
HOPE Tutoring-HOPE Tutoring is a nonprofit that offers free tutoring and summer camps to Arlington's 2nd-8th graders since 1996. Their services include in-class and virtual tutoring, afterschool programs, and summer camps for reading, math, and STEM. All services are free and lead to improved grades, confidence, and classroom participation.
Proyecto Juan Diego-PJD's Integrated Family Program supports parents in learning new skills like parenting, anger management, financial literacy, and domestic violence prevention. PJD's wholistic approach shows that parental support has a significant impact on their children and the surrounding community.
Jewish Family Service-Jewish Family Service (JFS) has been providing mental health, financial, and emergency assistance programs to North Texas residents for 73 years. It offers wraparound programs on a sliding fee scale, with over 55% of clients paying $5 or less per visit. JFS promotes empowerment, self-sufficiency, and well-being for the Greater Dallas community, regardless of ability to pay. Their staff work with each client to access resources and develop personalized plans for stability.
Christian Community Action-CCA is a ministry that provides comprehensive services to alleviate suffering and bring hope to the impoverished across Dallas, Denton, Collin, and Tarrant counties. The impactful programs and partnerships highlight itd dedication to making a positive and lasting difference in the lives of those facing poverty and hunger.
Cy-Hope-Cy-Hope provides resources and social support to children and families in the Cypress-Fairbanks school district, including programs that fight childhood obesity, provide food assistance, and empower underserved students through mentoring, literacy, and STEAM education. Recently, Cy-Hope expanded to neighboring Waller ISD to help underserved students in both districts thrive and graduate prepared for success.
Arlington Urban Ministries-For more than 25 years, Arlington Urban Ministries (AUM) has served the lowest income residents of Arlington, Texas with utility, rent, and other assistance, welcoming neighbors with open arms and offering love, hope, and stability.
Crossroads Community Services-Crossroads Community Services provides direct services, access to benefits, partner engagement, and food equity research programs to alleviate food insecurity in Dallas. From Food to Finances (F3) coaching program and Curbside Market are available to shoppers. The team also hosts North Texas Food Bank’s SNAP assistance office and partners with 150 other agencies for educational resources and food donations.
Project 10:27-Project 10:27, inspired by the biblical verse Luke 10:27, offers companionship and support to seniors in San Antonio through in-home visits, calls, and outings. The Senior Adoption Program fosters personal relationships, while the approach combines practical support with emotional and spiritual care.
Texas Ramp Project-Texas Ramp Project provides free wheelchair ramps to low-income older adults and others with disabilities. Volunteers build ramps following ADA guidelines. Referrals come from social service agencies, rehab hospitals, dialysis centers, etc.
McKinney UMC-The "GET LIT" Program aims to engage Millennials and Gen-Yers (18-45) who are not involved in church. They will collaborate with the Wesley Foundation to host monthly non-traditional evangelistic events called "Conversations on the Couch" to provide a space for young adults to freely express their opinions, challenge other options, and hear biblical perspectives.
Mount Olive FoodPantry Snack Pack Giveaway Project-Mount Olive Frances Byrd Horn of Plenty food pantry serves the poorest neighborhood in the Dallas community. It distributes food, personal care and hygiene products to over 30,000 people per year. The pantry provides emergency assistance to those in need and operates with a volunteer staff.
El Pasoans Fighting Hunger-El Pasoans Fighting Hunger’s primary objective is to continue to help those facing food insecurity in the community have access to nutritious food while simultaneously seeking ways to improve food access in our community through programs and partnerships.
El Calvario-El Calvario offers tailored service plans and empowers the community through job opportunities and locally sourced ingredients. At El Calvario United Methodist Church, they believe in the power of community to achieve remarkable things.
Immunize El Paso-ProAction offers immunization and prevention-based care, EMS education, and event medical support services. IZEP delivers vaccines to underserved communities and has provided over 900,000 immunizations. ProAction EMS Institute provides various EMS-related courses. ProAction EMS provides event medical support services in El Paso, Las Cruces, and nearby communities.
Trinity Restoration Ministries-TRM helps returning citizens with employment and housing after release. They offer a range of services based on evidence-based research, from pre-release mentoring to post-release housing and employment assistance. Graduates can move into more advanced units or other TRM-managed housing while continuing to receive support services.
Unbound Now: Continuum of Care Programming-Unbound Now fights human trafficking and supports survivors through survivor services, youth prevention, and outreach and training. It provides crisis response, advocacy, and case management, leading local coalitions and task forces, and offering a safe space for vulnerable youth and survivors to heal.
Fort Bend Hope Operating Grant-Fort Bend Hope empowers families through education. It offers after-school and summer reading programs for children and ESL, GED, citizenship, computer, and literacy classes for adults. The goal is to provide education and help our students lead their own lives.
Legal and Support Services for Victims of Abuse-Methodist Justice Ministry (MJM) advocates for victims of family violence, child abuse, and neglect. MJM files lawsuits for protective orders, custody, and divorce judgments, representing about 300 vulnerable clients annually. The team offers counseling services, emergency financial assistance, and connects families with a network of support.
DASH Safe Housing Program: A Place To Thrive-DASH Network is a nonprofit that offers housing, food, and support services to asylum seekers during their work permit wait of 1-3 years. It also provides access to education, legal coordination, transportation, and community resources to prepare residents to rent their own apartment. Over 273 residents have been housed in the program to date.
Amarillo Wesley Community Center- Since 1951, the Amarillo Wesley Community Center (AWCC) has served at-risk individuals of all ages in the Northwest Texas Panhandle. With a focus on affordability and tailored programs, AWCC operates from two campuses, offering a range of services, including childcare, youth programs, mentoring, and mental health support.
Summer Farm Program-This funding backs Urban Roots' Summer Farm Program (SFP), involving 30 high schoolers in leadership development and food justice advocacy over six weeks. Participants learn farming practices, join community workshops led by food justice scholars, and conclude with community lunches and youth presentations.
Earliest Connections Clinic (ECC)- ACN's Earliest Connections Clinic (ECC) offers early autism support for high-risk children aged 0 to 36 months, providing Pediatric Autism Communication Therapy (PACT) before formal diagnosis, challenging norms in South Texas agencies. Led by trained clinicians, including a fully certified master PACT clinician, ECC aims to intervene earlier than traditional approaches.
Café Momentum Education Program: Technology Upgrade -This grant aids Café Momentum Academy in educating justice-involved youth with essential technology, including virtual curriculum licensing, individual tablets, and Chromebooks. The flexible curriculum helps learners balance responsibilities, with funds ensuring access to updated technology for both classroom and at-home learning.
Children’s Bereavement Center of the Rio Grande Valley- The Children’s Bereavement Center of the Rio Grande Valley offers free counseling for grieving children and families in Harlingen and McAllen, including individual and group sessions in English and Spanish. They also organize day grief camps and host Grief Education Institutes for school counselors in the Rio Grande Valley.
Commercial Kitchen Incubator- El Calvario plans to renovate its kitchen to house a commercial kitchen incubator program, meeting increased demand from immigrants and refugees. This expansion provides opportunities for financial stability and self-sufficiency through training and support.
Emergency Food Distribution- EPFH strives to combat hunger by making nutritious food accessible to those facing insecurity. Their main program, Emergency Food Distribution, involves procuring, transporting, and distributing food across the service area through partner pantries, home delivery, and mobile distributions using refrigerated trucks.
Seed-starting Initiative at FAM Houston’s Farm of Peace- TMF funds will support Shamba Ya Amani's seed-starting initiative, providing a hoop house kit, seeding supplies, and wages for a seed specialist apprentice. This will boost productivity and self-sufficiency, fostering entrepreneurship and empowering future generations through mentorship within the Shamba community.
Cash, Community and Choice in Santa Fe- UpTogether will invest in over 1000 low-income households in Santa Fe County, prioritizing those affected by the pandemic, including predominantly female heads of households with children and the mixed-status and undocumented immigrant community. They'll also support caregivers enrolled in community college, with eligibility criteria varying based on city funding.
The Elgin Book Bus- The project aims to improve literacy in Elgin, particularly for Spanish-speaking children, by launching a Book Bus to distribute free children's books, expanding Spanish-language resources at the Elgin Public Library, and fostering collaboration with Elgin ISD through shared literacy programs.
The Prodigals- Led by worship leaders Vaughn Faison and Gabby Carr, the Prodigals ministry offers diverse elements like cold brew conversations, Pub Theology, and the monthly WANDER worship experience at Karmic Grounds coffee shop, fostering community discussions and serving as a healing space within the church.
Neighbor2Neighbor (Grant Worship Center)- Various community outreach programs of the Grant Worship Center will benefit from this grant including the missionary society, young people’s division, lay organization, and the ministry to the homeless.
