Expressing a Generous Spirit
Cathy Bell never imagined herself as a philanthropist. Serving on church finance committees through the years, though, Cathy saw firsthand that “any amount you can give is important” and that generosity is about so much more than the amount one can give. It’s about expressing your generous spirit.
After providing for her family, Cathy’s generosity will ultimately benefit both the congregation and the community it serves through the ministries, outreach, and evangelism of Lovers Lane UMC. One of its most innovative efforts that Cathy loves is its Food Ministry which began in May of 2020 and has distributed over 2 million pounds of food to 700,000 people.
Cathy profoundly appreciates the opportunity and tools to be philanthropic and make a meaningful gift to an organization that is impacting the community. “So many people think they have to have a large estate and lots of resources to give, and that’s just not true. I never thought I’d be able to make a gift like this, and working with TMF has shown me that I and many others can give. I encourage everyone to explore how they can give. Their gifts will have a lasting, meaningful impact on them and their communities.”
